Helen Virginia Briggs began acting in films in 1929, and soon graduated to the leads of such notable early '30s films as the melodrama Kongo with Walter Huston and Jane Eyre with Colin Clive as Rochester. Her other films of the '30s and '40s include the musical The Great Ziegfeld, the comedies The Invisible Woman with John Barrymore and Pardon My Sarong with Abbott and Costello, and the thriller Night Has a Thousand Eyes with Edward G. Robinson.
