Bio

A dead ringer for Johnny Depp in looks and attitude, if not cinematic success, this eccentric actor worked as a film extra before honing his craft as a member of David Mamet's prestigious Atlantic Theatre Company in New York. In 1996, the handsome player burst onto the movie scene in a quartet of different flicks, two of which, Scream and The Craft, positioned him as the next big teen crush. But by the end of the decade a string of flops (Ride with the Devil, The Newton Boys) had derailed his big-screen career. His luck didn't change when he turned to the small screen with the short-lived fantasy drama Miracles. But in 2005, his searing performance as a jealous brother in the miniseries Into the West proved he wasn't just the poor man's Depp, and the next year he landed a plum part on the postnuclear holocaust drama Jericho, which gained a cult following, but was cancelled in its second season. Ulrich was cast as Det. Rex Walters on Law & Order: Los Angeles in 2010. That same year he signed on to reprise his role as serial killer Billy Loomis in the fourth installment of the Scream franchise.
