Bank robbers Bartlett (Kenne Duncan) and Lucas (Gregg Barton) escape and hide out in the hills between the towns of White Water and Los Robles. In White Water, bank investigator Gene Autry (Gene Autry) grows suspicious of the activities of mine technician Ben Luber (Alan Hale Jr.) and his brother. When he discovers that the brothers are secretly providing aid to the robbers, Gene enlists his friend Mike (Pat Buttram) and a nurse, Helen (Lynne Roberts), to help him track down the criminals.
