Synopsis

In this musical, set during WW II in the South Pacific, an Army officer is sent to the island to prevent his troops from getting involved with the native women. To set a good example, the officer only dates a missionary's daughter. The trouble begins when a beautiful reporter comes to the island. She immediately falls for the officer, but he rejects her. For revenge, the woman writes a slanderous story stating that the island king gave his beautiful daughter to the officer as a gift. Soon the officer finds himself in hot water with his troops. He also finds himself the focus of an Army investigation. Songs include: I'm a Ruler of a South Sea Island," "Who Will It Be When the Time Comes?" "What Makes a Difference?" "All of Me," "Down Among the Sheltering Palms," and "When You're in Love."
