- Waited tables, working as a waitress in Singapore, to earn some money to help her while she studied there, living off a meager allowance from home.
- Started her Bollywood career as an assistant director for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Black (2005).

- Took over her father's production house Anil Kapoor Film Co. Ltd in 2008. She and her sister run the company together now.
