- Discovered his passion for acting when he was eleven after seeing the 1992 film Radio Flyer, which was the first film he memorized from start to finish.
- Competed in track in high school, running the 100 meters, the 4 x 100 relay, and the 4 x 400 relay; and was named Most Valuable Track Athlete as a sophomore and junior.
- Previously played on the San Francisco Dons men's basketball team while attending the University of San Francisco, and would play either point or shooting guard.
- Made his TV debut guest starring as Desmond in the drama series Lincoln Heights in 2007.
- Performed all of his own basketball stunts on the USA series Necessary Roughness, in which he played Devon Langer.
