Henry Edwards debuted as an actor and director in 1915, and made numerous films co-starring his wife Chrissie White, including Broken Threads, The Amazing Quest of Mr. Ernest Bliss, and The Bargain. He concentrated on directing in the '30s, helming such films as Scrooge with Sir Seymour Hicks and The Song of the Forge. In the '40s and early '50s, Edwards kept busy as an actor; among his credits are David Lean's Oliver Twist and John Boulting's The Magic Box.
