- Was born to a Muslim mother and a Hindu father who belonged to the royal family of Jaisalmer.
- Is the great granddaughter of Gokuldas Morarji, who was a reputed businessman in the shipping, textile, agricultural and pharmaceutical industries.
- Was barely three months old when her mother divorced her father and married film producer Chander Sadanah.
- Signed her debut film with Aamir Khan but her debut came to be with actor Salman Khan in Baaghi: A Rebel for Love (1990).
- Joined the main opposition Congress political party in Andhra Pradesh during April 2004.
