Beloved Bollywood actress Preity Zinta originally planned on a much different career, majoring in criminal psychology at Bombay University. Shortly after graduating, she began modeling and appearing in commercials, eventually accompanying a friend to an audition for a film where she auditioned as well, setting her on the path to become an actress herself. She began appearing in many Indian films, garnering not just tremendous commercial success but accumulating praise from critics as well. She appeared in films like 2003's The Hero: Love Story of a Spy, and in 2004 she appeared in Veer-Zaara. Another particularly successful hit for Zinta came in 2007 with the romantic comedy Jhoom Barabar Jhoom. In 2005, she began dating Ness Wadia, heir to the wealthy Bombay Dyeing company.
