  • Joined a trade guide before he met Mukul Anand. It was then that he decided to enroll for a filmmaking course instead of becoming Mukul's assistant.
  • Won a National Award in 1987 for his diploma film The Eight Column Affair.
  • Is recognised for the good work for his short film on Raman Raghav, a serial killer who terrified Mumbai in the 1960s.
