Guy Kibbee was a character actor of the '30s and '40s. The portly fellow often played supporting roles as clever and jovial characters in a wide variety films, but he also played leads in films such as Captain January (1935) and Scattergood Baines (1940). Prior to coming to Hollywood, Kibbee spent many years on stage. When he was 13, he was an entertainer on Mississippi riverboats.
