Born Allen Goorwitz, this chubby character actor played a wide range of roles onstage after studying theater at the Actors Studio. In 1968 he debuted onscreen, going on to have a busy and consistent screen career; he has tended to play aggresssive, indecent, unpleasant, corrupt types. Between 1978-83 he was billed under his real name.
