- Began modeling at age 3.
- Attended the Royal Ballet's summer school in London at age 9. Her parents couldn't afford the 300 British pound fee, so a local newspaper raised the funds for her.
- Decided to ditch dancing and become a singer at age 12.
- Discovered on Popstars: The Rivals, a 2002-03 music-competition TV series in Britain that formed all-girl and all-boy groups. She made the cut and was cast in Girls Aloud, which went on to become a very popular group in England.
- Helped raise 3.4 million British pounds for the Comic Relief charity by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in 2009.
- Founded the Cheryl Cole Foundation in 2011 to support the Prince's Trust and other charities that help disadvantaged young people.
