A television director by the early '60s, he began helming films in 1965 with the William Inge-scripted Bus Riley's Back in Town. Several low-budget genre films followed, including the horror films Dark Intruder and The Pyx, and the prison drama Fortune and Men's Eyes. Throughout his career, Hart helmed numerous films for Canadian and American television.
