- Was the daughter of Rana Pratap Singh who produced two films – Vidya and Jeet, both starring Dev Anand and Suraiya, in 1948.
- Was the granddaughter of Mohan Sinha – a producer and director – who directed about 32 films.
- Won the title Miss Bombay in 1968 and modelled for several top brands.
- Signed her first film Raja Kaka (1974) although it was released after Rajnigandha (1974).
- Made her debut in the role of a young woman torn between two loves in Basu Chatterjee's film Rajnigandha (1974).
