- Arrived in Mumbai in 1991 and started singing for albums released by T-Series.
- Hosted many seasons of the famous television singing competition show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa; he first joined the show's crew in 1995.
- Appeared as a judge in many Indian television singing competition shows including Indian Idol, Amul Star Voice of India, Chhote Ustad and X Factor (India).
- Has sung songs in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam languages as well.
