Kate Gosselin became well known to audiences when she began co-starring with her husband, Jon Gosselin, on the TLC reality show Jon & Kate Plus 8 in 2005. The show chronicled the daily lives of the couple as they raised their eight kids: two twins born in 2000 and sextuplets born in 2004, after Gosselin underwent fertility treatments. Gosselin is also a registered nurse and has authored books on her experiences with motherhood. The couple split in October 2009 and Jon quickly became an Ed Hardy-wearing fixture in celebrity tabloids while his ex-wife attempted to maintain a television career.
