After much experience on Broadway he went to Hollywood in the late '40s, where he was fairly busy onscreen for about a decade, often playing heavies. A good singer with a deep baritone voice, occasionally he had a role that required him to sing. He did much work on TV, and was a regular on the series The Bob Cummings Show.
