A popular singer of the '30s and '40s, she was best known for her work on radio, both as a star of her own show and a regular on Bob Hope's show in the early to mid '40s. She debuted onscreen in 1935, playing leads and supporting roles in many light Hollywood films (mostly musicals) through 1954. From 1938-55 she was married to actor Jon Hall.
