Lansing was born Joyce Wassmansdorff. A busty, dazzling, humorous blond actress in prominent roles, she appeared onscreen from the late '40s in mostly routine films. She had a popular and busy TV career as well, and was best known as Shirley Swanson on the TV sitcom Love That Bob with Robert Cummings.
