- Was born and brought up in Patna where her father was posted in a government office.
- Was the fourth child among six siblings.
- Is an accomplished dancer who has been felicitated with the title Prabhakar in Kathak from Prayag Sangeet Samiti when she was only 11 years old.
- Was affiliated with Indian People's Theatre Association (IPTA), Patna for about 15 years and participated in various events like acting, singing, dancing and stage shows.
- Completed her post-graduation (Masters) in History from Delhi University, Delhi and went abroad to pursue an MS in Corporate Communications at Ithaca College, New York, US.
- Is an alumnus of Miranda House, Delhi University.
- Had worked in an eminent corporate company in Mumbai, but quit after a time to pursue acting.
- Made her debut in film with a short role in the film Return to Rajapur (2006).
- Made her TV debut in the Bhojpuri series Bahubali (2008-09) in which she played the role of mighty Bahubali's wife.
- Became a member of Ekjute Theater Group where she was mentored by Nadira Babbar.
