One of the more prolific action directors at Republic directors, John English was also one of the studio's three powerhouse makers of serials, principally in association with William Witney, with whom he made Jungle Girl, Zorro's Fighting Legion, and The Mysterious Dr. Satan, among other fondly remembered chapterplays.
