A former business major at Tel Aviv University, Yoram Globus teamed with his older cousin Menachem Golan to form the Israeli-based Noah Films in 1963. From 1979 to 1989, Globus and Golan headed the prolific Cannon Film Group. The company financed its Oscar-nominated "prestige" pictures with a heavy manifest of profitable action films. Globus split with Golan in 1989 to become CEO of Pathe International. By 1993, however, Yoram Globus and Menachem Golan were a team once more.
