  • Studied in many colleges in Bombay as she was rusticated from college frequently for students activism.
  • Was drawn towards theatre movement and became a founder member of the IPTA (Indian Progressive Theatre Movement).
  • Made her silver screen acting debut in Us Ki Kahani (1965) which won her a Bengal Journalists Association Award.
