Israeli actress Haya Harareet first made a name for herself with her country's Cameri Theater. She made her film debut in the Israeli film Hill 24 Doesn't Answer (1955). Harareet's most famous role was that of Esther in the 1959 classic epic Ben Hur. She subsequently was relegated to minor films, most of which were shown in Europe. By 1964, Harareet's film career was over; she did, however, co-write the screenplay for Our Mother's House (1967).
