A very pretty, sweet ingenue in Hollywood films of the '30s, she starred in action B-movies in the late '30s and early '40s, often as a hard-boiled type. She was a regular in the '50s TV series That's My Boy. During World War Two she was a spy for the U.S.in Mexico and Central America, working for Naval Intelligence with her first husband, a reserve officer. Because of failing health she was rarely onscreen after 1948, except for a flurry of activity in the mid '60s.
