An actor during the '40s, Marshall's credits include Santa Fe Trail and State Fair. He switched to directing in 1951 with the Errol Flynn vehicle Adventures of Captain Fabian, which he also produced; he also helmed the bizarre science-fictioner The Phantom Planet.
