Born in New Jersey, actress Elizabeth Pena was raised in Cuba, then in her teen years moved to New York, where her father was an established stage producer/director/playwright. Fresh out of the High School of Performing Arts, Elizabeth made her film bow in the Spanish-language El Super (1979). Among her choicer movie assignments was the role of maid-cum-political activist Carmen in Down and Out in Beverly Hills (1985) and Ritchie Valens' stepsister-in-law Rosie Morales in La Bamba (1987). Elizabeth Pena's TV credits include the TV sitcoms Tough Cookies (1986) and I Married Dora (1987), and the 1990 legal drama Shannon's Deal.
