Adolfi died May 10, 1933, in Revelstoke, Canada. A film actor in the early teens, Adolfi assisted D.W. Griffith and soon turned to directing. He helmed numerous films during the silent era, and between '31 and '33 directed seven George Arliss talkies, including the remake of The Man Who Played God and the biopics Alexander Hamilton and Voltaire.
