Synopsis

Joe Holt (Joe E. Brown) invents an unsinkable swimsuit and brings it to his boss at a swimwear company, but the suit is rejected. He then learns he's received an inheritance from an aunt, so he quits his job and moves to California, only to learn he's inherited worthless stock. Joe's fortunes turn when socialite Alice Brandon (Ginger Rogers) mistakes him for a champion swimmer of the same name, and he agrees to enter a swimming competition with his invention, even though he's afraid of water.
