This made-for-TV movie tells the true story of Charlie Wedemeyer (Michael Nouri), a former football player turned high school coach with a loving wife (Pam Dawber) and two children. When the doctors tell Charlie he has about a year to live, the school expects him to retire from coaching, but he refuses, determined to guide his players to their first state championship, against the odds.
