During the Korean War, Andy Cyphers (Glenn Ford) and three other U.S. Navy photographers are on leave in Japan. They hole up in what they believe to be an abandoned geisha house, but discover soon enough that there are still geishas living there. As luck would have it, there are four of them, and, inevitably, the sailors and the women pair off. As the various couples fall in love, they almost inadvertently hatch a scheme to raise money for an orphanage. Romance and good deeds go hand in hand.
