Synopsis

Tsui Hark's fourth film, and first for Cinema City, is an amusing slapstick riff on various crime and gangster clichés, staged with a talented cast led by George Lam as the deadbeat private investigator Yoho. The detective is following a case set in the 1930s involving a brutal mobster with the groan-inducing name of Ah Capone (Karl Maka), who is pressuring a wealthy old man to give up some valuable stock holdings. Diminutive Teddy Robin shows up to help out (and later directed the 1983 sequel, All the Wrong Spies), Kelly Yiu makes a memorable femme fatale, and Eric Tsang appears in a clever takeoff of the Bruce Lee scene from Marlowe. This was Hark's first major commercial success, despite the later cult status of many of his films.
