In a melodramatic tale that would feel at home on an afternoon soap opera, a spoiled and arrogant singer gets his comeuppance. Leslie Chung plays a singing idol who gives an aspiring female vocalist (Anita Miu) a chance to perform at his packed concert before it closes. She ends up doing so well she becomes famous on her own. Meanwhile, he's feeling down and out for no good reason and decides to chuck everything and go to Paris. Leaving his problems (and his fans) behind, he then proceeds to lose all his money on gambling and alcohol. Just when he is at his lowest ebb, a kind-hearted Vietnamese woman (Cecilia Yip) takes him home and gets him back on his feet again. Naturally, they fall in love and marry. But that's not the end of the story. A tragedy and a few more plot twists further complicate matters before the final credits roll.
