Synopsis
Knowing that his greedy relatives long for his death, elderly millionaire Everard Hope (Eliot Makeham) taunts them with hints of who will inherit. After Hope is mysteriously murdered, the family is stunned when a distant niece, Dorothea (Jessie Matthews), is announced as the heiress -- on the condition that she spend one full month in the Hope mansion, with only eerie housekeeper Julia (Beatrix Lehmann) and butler Griggs (John Salew) as company. Soon, Dorothea's life is threatened.
