Screenwriters Cristi Puiu and Razvan Radulescu, who previously collaborated on the internationally acclaimed drama The Death of Mr. Lazarescu, team with director/co-writer Didi Danquart for this romantic drama concerning a Romanian woman forced to choose between her German fiancée and her powerful boss/lover. Brindusa (Alexandra Maria Lara) is a secretary in the printing shop owned by Nicolai "Nicu" Iorga (Razvan Vasilescu). Though Brindusa and Nicu have recently become lovers, Brindusa is simultaneously repulsed and attracted by the wealthy businessman's undeniable charisma. When German technician Stefan (Felix Klare) arrives at the office to install a new offset machine, the power connection he forms with the German-speaking secretary soon leads him to propose marriage. Upon accepting his offer, Brindusa finds that severing her romantic ties to Nicu isn't nearly as simple as she thought it would be.
