Synopsis

Kung fu diva Moon Lee Choi-fung star in this rare melodramatic turn as Lee Siu-hong, a troubled Mainland Chinese lass who runs away from home to become a Hong Kong prostitute. As her desperate mother (Josephine Koo Mei-wah) scours the colony's pleasure quarters, we see flashbacks of the girl's unfortunate past. Born into a family with a thuggish, ne'er-do-well father and a narrow-minded, illiterate grandmother. When Siu-hong's mother has finally had enough of her spouse's abuse, she files for a divorce, winning custody of Siu-hong. Unfortunately, grandma abducts the kid and smuggles her into a remote corner of China. When mother and daughter are finally meet, their own emotional scars prevent their reunion from being a happy one. This film reportedly sat on the shelf for over a year before finally being released in 1988.
