Synopsis

Made in a remarkably fast amount of time, this film was intended to aid flood victims in China. The film centers around a heated competition between Hong Kong billionaire Mario Tsang Siu-chi (Eric Tsang) and his rival Hung Tai-bo (Sammo Hung) who are both gunning for the same contract to rebuild Kuwait after the Gulf War. Hoping to impress Kuwaiti fat cat Prince Alibraba with his sophistication and elan, Tsang throws a banquet in his honor. Along the way, Tsang tracks down his long-lost father (Richard Ng) and learns that he has terminal cancer. The real draw of this film -- directed by Tsui Hark, Joseph Cheung, Clifton Ko, and Alfred Cheung -- is not the threadbare plot, but its eye-popping cast list which features virtually every major star and actor in Hong Kong, including Tony Leung Kar-fai, Tony Leung Chiu-wai, Gong Li, Maggie Cheung, Andy Lau, Anita Mui, Sylvia Chang, John Woo, Stephen Chiau, Leslie Cheung, and many more.
