Synopsis

In this off-beat anti-war drama, a pacifist finds himself driven to violence by the horrors of WWI. Claude Rains plays a peace-loving, brilliant author who is sent to the fronts to write a damning story on the fighting and on the capitalists who keep the devastating battles raging for their own profit. Though he continues his crusade for peace throughout the bloodshed, no one listens and the author decides to return home. There he finds his wife abed with his publisher. Blind rage overpowers his reason and a tragedy ensues proving that violence does indeed create violence.
