Bio

A performer who carved out his reputation as the middle brother of the teen pop act the Jonas Brothers (he was 17 years old when the group initially formed), Joe Jonas grew up on the East Coast with his two siblings Kevin and Nicholas. Raised by musician parents in Wyckoff, NJ, the boys caught their first taste of stardom when Nicholas' voice drew the attention of executives from the Daylight/Columbia label, which opted to record a solo album devoted to the young singer. It soon came to light, however, that the Jonases had been collectively authoring original songs and performing them together, a discovery that prompted the said label to expand their focus to include the other two young men. The clan's debut album, It's About Time, appeared on Daylight/Columbia in 2006 and immediately drew both favorable notices and comparisons to such predecessors as Hanson. Their listener awareness and fan base expanded meteorically thanks to the folks at Disney, which gave the Jonas Brothers' music video for "Year 3000" constant airplay and made them a fixture on Radio Disney. The group then teamed up with megaproducer John Fields to record a follow-up.

In the wake of this success, the young men began to branch out into a movie career, again thanks to Disney. They signed for their first project with the summer 2008 Disney Channel telemovie Camp Rock; the family-oriented comedy concerns the members of a boy band (played by the Jonases) who attend a rock & roll-themed summer camp with the hope of re-instilling a passion for music in one of their members, Shane (Joe Jonas). The success of Camp Rock led to the brothers getting their own Disney Channel series JONAS that lasted two seasons. The brothers also released a 3D concert film in 2009. The trio went to the well one more time with Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam in 2010. He subsequently appeared on Kevin's reality show, Married to Jonas, and turned to a solo music career when the Jonas Brothers split in 2013.
