Bio

British actor Tom Clegg was a longtime conveyer of brusque, brutish characterizations. Clegg's serious side was seen in such major productions as Moby Dick (1956) and This Sporting Life (1963). In a lighter vein, he was a semi-regular in the zany Carry On films of the 1960s. After 1970, Tom Clegg confined his activities to directing films and TV shows; arguably his best effort along these lines was the Roger Daltrey starrer McVicar (1980), which he also scripted.
