A dancer in her teens, she broke into films in 1935, going on to play leads and second leads in many productions; she appeared primarily in low-budget action pictures. She remained fairly busy onscreen through the late '40s, after which her film appearances were infrequent. She later produced and directed stage plays and light operas in California. She was once married to actor Henry Wilcoxon, with whom she appeared in Chasing Danger (1939).
