In 1980, a young high school student was murdered in the small town of Conroe, TX. The first and only suspect was the school janitor Clarence Brandley. Despite having different hair and blood types from those found on the victim, Brandley was convicted of murder and sentenced to death by an all-white jury. His saving grace was an outspoken community and legal team dedicated to his release. Nine years later, Brandley secured his freedom. But what happens to a man who endures two stays of execution and almost a decade of false imprisonment? Brandley himself talks about losing a part of himself that can never be reclaimed.
