Life starts to take a downward turn for 16-year-old Dylan Blake following the disappearance of her father. She falls in with the wrong crowd, gets arrested, and is ordered to perform community service at Open Heart Memorial, a hospital that holds deep significance in her life. Not only are her mother and sister doctors there, but it is also where her father was last seen alive. She uses her time at the hospital to try to find evidence to support her theory that something bad happened to her father, who many people think abandoned his family. Assisting Dylan on her quest for the truth are her new friends -- gossipy Mikayla, who knows a lot about the hospital, and charming Wes, who volunteers at Open Heart with the hope of one day becoming a pediatrician. Together, they uncover a trail of clues, some of which lead to unexpected places.
