Business tycoon Donald Trump serves as the "master" and his business empire, The Trump Organization, is the hub of the competition. Each week, Trump fires one candidate from the contest. In the final episode, one person is awarded a year-long assignment and the accompanying six-figure salary as "the apprentice of a master."
