As a young child, aspired to be a surgeon before realizing his passion for musical theater.
First time acting was in a local children's theater's production of
Pied Piper
when he was 7 years old.
Performed in numerous musicals and plays during high school, including the lead roles of Ren in
Footloose
and Danny in
Grease.
Starred in the titular role in Elon University's stage production of
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
in 2008.
In 2010, performed as Melchior in a national stage tour of
Spring Awakening
.
Played the role of Joe Hardy in a Paper Mill Playhouse production of
Damn Yankees
in 2010.
In 2015, was named on Variety's list of 10 TV Actors to Watch.
Is an advocate of mental-health awareness.
