Synopsis

"Top Chef Masters" is going viral for its fifth season ... sort of. A new online series featuring the contestants' sous chefs competing against one another directly impacts the chefs, giving them advantages -- including immunity -- and disadvantages based on each sous chef's performance. The online element is designed to explore the uniquely interdependent relationship between chef and sous chef. On the main show, Gail Simmons becomes the show's new head critic and food editor Lesley Suter joins the judging panel alongside returnees James Oseland, Ruth Reichl and Francis Lam, in addition to the usual array of celebrity guest judges. The season's winning chef earns the title of Top Chef Master and $100,000 for the charity of his or her choice.
